Other sources of help

If you don’t think that instructing me is right for you or you simply don’t have any funds for a lawyer, you may find the following useful.

I’ve produced some YouTube videos that tell you a little bit about the court environment and how a hearing might work. Those videos are at the bottom of this page.

My book The Family Court without a Lawyer – A Handbook for Litigants in Person might give you a boost (it’s around £30).

The Bar Council’s Guide to Representing Yourself In Court might be useful.

The Justice Website has lots of useful information, including the court Procedure Rules and some Guidance about getting legal aid.

The Bar Pro Bono Unit may be able to help, but you need to get referred by a lawyer, law centre, advice centre or MP.
